Is New Green Day Music Coming? Billie Joe Armstrong Shares Studio Pic

          We’ve been waiting since 2012 to hear new music from Green Day. Could a new album be on the horizon?

          Well, front man Billie Joe Armstrong has been in the studio. On Tuesday (Jan. 19), Armstrong hopped on Instagram and shared the following photo, accompanied with the caption “January 2016.”

If Green Day is working on a new studio album, it will be their first since releasing a trio of full lengths -- titled ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! -- in 2012. In 2014, they released Demolicious, a compilation of demos from those sessions.

We don't have any idea what new Green Day tunes would sound like, but Billie Joe did tweet this last month

So what's next for Green Day? We'll have to wait and see.
