It’s no secret that OnePlus is planning on launching another smartphone this year, which is expected to be a mid-range offering. Earlier this week, OnePlus India’s general manager, Vikas Agrawal all but confirmed the existence of the forthcoming smartphone. Tentatively called the OnePlus X, we may finally have some idea on the kind of specifications it is likely to boast, as well as a launch timeframe.
As far as the looks are concerned, the OnePlus X is being designed from scratch according to factory sources cited by GizmoChina. The renders yet again hint at a dual-camera setup at the back.

OnePlus X specifications and features: The publication’s sources also confirm that the forthcoming smartphone will feature a 5-inch display and will be powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor. Using an older chipset will help OnePlus keep the prices down. This is however in contrast to earlier reports claiming that the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek MT6795T chipset.
From what we have come across, the OnePlus X is also expected to feature 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, dual-camera setup at the back, and a fingerprint sensor as well.
The publication also claims that the OnePlus X could be launched as early as this month. Agrawal hinted as much saying, “We’re introducing a new device by the end of this year. Diwali would be the ideal time, but next quarter for sure. It would be a global launch, but India will be the biggest focus.” It is expected to be aggressively priced around $249 or Rs 16,320 approximately.
